Saúl Corona

The visual artist Saúl G. Corona was born in Mollet del Vallés (Barcelona – Spain) in 1980 and currently lives in Málaga (Spain).

Saúl G. Corona began painting as a child imitating the cartoons of the anime series Dragon Ball and in his adolescence, a school trip to Italy filled him with passion for Michelangelo’s painting. Shortly thereafter, he began his university studies in Art History, which he left unfinished to start working in different jobs that did not satisfy him and which he combined with painting. At the same time, at the age of 18, he discovered music and for ten years, successively, he was a member of two rock bands. In January 2020, just before the pandemic was declared, he left his job in a chemical factory to move to Malaga, open his studio and devote himself exclusively to painting.

Since his childhood, art has been fundamental for Saúl G. Corona, as his life, subject to profound cyclical changes, has always had his drawings and paintings as a fundamental part of it.

Spanish art critic Sara Torres Gijón says: “If we were looking for a word to describe the work of Saúl G. Corona, it would undoubtedly be passion. Passion for the vocation that he has as an artist and that he demonstrates in the meticulous creation of each of his paintings, but we can also find it, passion, within each of them”.
